Autodata 3.41 German The next generation of Autodata based on this release is renamed to "Autodata 3.41 x64". The interface remains the same but hardware relevant drivers are updated to version 31.30 or later, also included in this release.
In the last release, a bug was fixed related to entries devoid of a manufacturer name. Another change was implemented which should give faster results when "Find devices" is selected while an entry has no device ID registered in the database yet. In order for this fix to take effect, a new firmware or driver must be installed for your system and a new device must be found and added manually to the database before starting Autodata again. The main database can be updated online if a 3G or similar connection is available. If a device is recognized but not registered in the database, a button will be displayed if the needed firmware/driver is already installed in the system. In this release, Autodata uses Microsoft's [Windows Installer] to install and uninstall the program. The previous version required installation of an additional file to add or remove devices from Autodata. This has been changed to use WMI instead which gives better speed and more functionality when updating the database. The next generation of Autodata based on this release is renamed to "Autodata 3.41 x64". The interface remains the same but hardware relevant drivers are updated to version 31.30 or later, also included in this release. Also, a new feature is added where the newest version of the firmware can be downloaded from a future release of Autodata itself.
In previous versions of the program, a user-defined number of entries could not be deleted by clicking on an entry and choosing "Delete entry..." from the context menu. This bug has been fixed in this version. Autodata now also registers all installed USB hubs as additional devices for USB Mass Storage devices that are connected to them. When updating an entry that is related to a firmware, the new hardware related data will only be written if the installed driver matches the device in question. This makes it possible to easily compare and update existing device entries without manual editing in future releases of Autodata. The same also works for drivers and parts in the database. For Intel's AMT version 1.0, "AMT presence" has been implemented to determine whether the feature is supported by a system or not. This can be useful when testing systems where AMT might be used for remote management or other features such as BitLocker To Go when these features might require certain firmware revisions or settings which can be configured when AMT is present in a system.
